Gone too soon...
As of lately I have been doing designs catering to the celebrities that have come and gone who have made impact on the lives of the people that have been involved in their crafts. It started around July when I was watching the history of whom some would still consider the princess of pop music that was gone too soon, Aaliyah Haughton. After watching a documentary of her life, I felt a need to do a design in memory of the songstress that has impacted the lives of so many. I made sure each design was clearly identifiable without it being too detailed with the use of only black and white. I purposefully used these two contrasting neutral colors for their meaning as it relates to death and eternity. Many cultures associate black for death and white as purity. This is why there is rarely any greys and no gradation in any of the designs. White also has an eternal symbolism as many cultures utilize white when it comes to heavenly beings as well as traditional weddings which represents a lifelong commitment. As their births/deaths comes along I will be posting designs of various artists that have impacted my life. So far, I have done baby girl Aaliyah, king of pop Michael Jackson, and our most recent loss Aretha Franklin. There will be more to come as the years go on until I move on to the next set of designs....
